Expedition OverviewThe climb

Hidden in the rugged Karakoram foothills of the Nubra Valley, Sahib Chasa is an exploratory six-thousand-metre expedition for discerning alpinists. At 6,100 metres, this wild and rarely climbed glaciated massif offers a genuine wilderness experience far removed from standard trekking trails. The objective suits mountaineers who have previously completed high-altitude expeditions and possess solid crampon and self-arrest skills on untamed terrain. You cross the famed Khardung La before entering remote canyon approaches from Hunder Dok to establish base camp beneath towering granite and ice faces.

Your itinerary follows a thirteen-day expedition via Hunder Dok and Wachan, establishing Advance Base Camp at Chhochan Tso at 4,912 metres. The crux comes on summit morning with an alpine departure before dawn into deep mountain solitude. You climb for ten hours across untracked moraine and a sustained forty-four degree glaciated snow headwall, gaining 1,188 vertical metres from high camp. Roped teams navigate hidden crevasses and the narrow summit ridge, reaching the untouched 6,100-metre summit before descending safely back to Chhochan Tso.
